I usually make this soup with split peas only, but for this recipe I mixed it with lentil. Both peas and lentil are high in fiber, they reduce risk of heart disease and stabilize blood sugar.
Rince peas and lentil and soak them in water for 2 hours, before cooking.
In the skillet, in couple table spoons of olive oil cook onion, carrot and ham. Add garlic and ginger at the end.
Bring water to a boil in the pot, transfer vegetables with ham to the pot and add potato.
add peas with lentil as well.
Season with salt and cook on low heet until potato, pea and lentil are tender.
Add some kale at the end before turning the heat off.
The spoon of sour cream can be added when serving.
