Simple yet delicious and satisfying dish. The very important is – do not overcook it to get best of it. The liver is low in calories and saturated fat. Yet it is a natural source of vitamins and minerals.
Soak liver in water for couple of hours. Some would soak it in a milk.
Cut lengthwise in 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.
Season with garlic salt and pepper.
Whisk an egg with 2 table spoons of water in small bowl and dip liver in egg solution.
Then coat it with flour on both sides.
Cook liver in medium-hot skillet, with 3 table spoons of oil, for 4-5 minutes on one side, or until golden brown.
Turn over and cover with the lead, it will help to keep it soft and moisture. Cook another 4-5 minutes o the other side.
Clean the skillet from the left residue after each load.
In the pan cook sliced onion with couple of table spoons of olive oil, stirring occasionally, until soft.
Serve the liver with cooked onion on top.
