Cook Time: 20
Servings: 4

Ingredients:

1 cup of buckwheat grains
2 cup of water
1/2 tea spoon salt
3 table spoons butter
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 medium onion chopped
2 garlic clove minced

The buckwheat is very healthy as for kids, so for adults. It is low in calories but very rich in nutritions.
Buckwheat cooked with vegetables tastes great specially when served with a beef stroganoff or beef stew.
To introduce your self to a new dish, cook half cup of buckwheat in 1 cup of water with 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

Rinse the Buckwheat grains in water few times, until water is clear. Bring to a boil 2 cup of  lightly salted water and cook 1 cup of Buckwheat in it on low heat.  Simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until water is absorbed.

Separately in the frying pan, melt 3 table spoons of butter, add  onion and carrot, stir frying until tender, add garlic and continue cooking for couple more minutes, until garlic releases it’s fragrance.

Add buckwheat to the frying vegetables and mix together, turning gradually.  Take off from the heat.

Welcome To My Blog!

Hi, my name is Olga.  I would like to welcome you to my site.

I created it first of all, to save my family’s recipes and then to share them with my friends and those who have tasted some Russian/Ukrainian food and liked it. But I also would like to introduce it to those who haven’t yet, but would like to.

I will try to keep my recipes simple, but there are few that might require more prep time or ingredients for preparation. You will also find some of my family’s favorite American recipes here and other international cuisines.

I thank you for visiting my site. I hope you will fall in love with Russian/Ukrainian food and will come back again.
